Fan filter unit (FFU), aslo known as laminar flow module, fan-powered filter, is a type of air filtration device that can remove contaminants from the air and make the air more clean up to ISO-5 (Class-100). It typically consists of a fan, a HEPA filter, and a motorized impeller, all housed in a compact, self-contained unit.
Fan filter units are normally applicable to various cleanrooms, big or small. The type of small-area application is the soft-wall cleanroom. By using different quantity of FFUs, the soft-wall cleanroom can acheive different air cleanliness class arranging from ISO-4 (Class/10) to ISO-8 (Class-100,000).
